ST CLOUD, Minn. – During a stop at bus manufacturer New Flyer in St. Cloud Thurs. afternoon, Vice President Kamala Harris stressed the importance of investing in electric buses and vehicles to help fight climate change and create hundreds of good-paying jobs.
The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that President Biden and Vice President Harris pushed contains about $90 billion in funding for the nation’s transit districts, at least $5.5 billion of which was dedicated to electric transit buses. Minnesota is expected to receive more than $850 million over five years to improve public transit across the state.
Harris said electric buses are the key to the future of public transportation across America.
