BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Former Miss America Cara Mund announced that she is running for the Republican nomination for North Dakota’s U.S. House seat.
Mund ran for the same seat in 2022 as an Independent, after losing the Republican nomination to Kelly Armstrong in the June primary.
Mund is a Harvard Law School graduate, and Miss America 2018.
She says voters are looking for a moderate Republican candidate.
“I do think there are moderate North Dakotans that don’t necessarily want us to go back 50 years in time,” Mund said Monday.
Others looking for the Republican nomination are Julie Fedorchak, Alexander Balazs, Rick Becker and Sharlet Mohr.
