THOMPSON, N.D. (KFGO) – Authorities arrested a man after an incident at a residence southwest of Thompson, North Dakota on Thursday.
Grand Forks County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the farmstead on a report of a suicidal man armed with a gun. As they arrived and were setting up a perimeter, the man fired one shot from a high-caliber rifle. Deputies did not fire their weapons and called in the regional SWAT team, regional UAS, negotiation teams, and the Grand Forks Police K9 team.
Deputies and SWAT members approached the house in an armored vehicle and a female was able to leave the home.
The suspect, 35-year-old Kyle Spicer, exited shortly and was taken into custody.
He’s charged with terrorizing, felonious restraint, interference with a 911 call, simple assault, and felon in possession of a firearm.
