UNDERWOOD, Minn. (KVRR) — An eight-year-old from Underwood, Minnesota is recognized for being a real-life hero.
At the city’s council meeting, Otter Tail County Sheriff Barry Fitzgibbons presented an award to Kingsley Espitia for his courageous and selfless actions.
In July, Kingsley was fishing at the Bass Lake Public Access when a three-year-old fell into the water.
Still in his clothing, they say Kingsley jumped in after the kid and pulled the young boy to safety.
They credit Kingsley’s quick thinking, courage, and willingness to act in preventing what could have been a tragic outcome.
