MOORHEAD (KFGO) – Essentia Health is starting construction on a new family medicine clinic in downtown Moorhead.
The clinic will be located in the former Wells Fargo building at 730 Center Avenue. Essentia says the new location will make health care more convenient for people in the Moorhead area.
The $9.5 million project will turn the first floor of the building into a 12,500-square-foot clinic.
The new clinic will offer primary care, urgent care, lab and X-ray services, physical therapy and a pharmacy with drive-through access.
The space will include 10 exam rooms and one procedure room. Essentia says the clinic could eventually add more services based on the needs of the community.
Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson and Downtown Moorhead, Inc. President Matt Leiseth joined Essentia leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday.

Essentia Health West Market President Dr. Stefanie Gefroh Ellison says the project will make high-quality health care more accessible to people in the community.

Essentia currently operates a walk-in clinic in downtown Moorhead and a family medicine clinic along Highway 75, south of Interstate 94.

The new clinic is expected to be completed in May 2027.
