Nov 03 (Field Level Media) – Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Edwin Uceta underwent surgery on his right shoulder and will miss at least the first couple months of the 2027 season, team president of baseball operations Erik Neander said Tuesday.
Uceta, 28, has been sidelined since spring training in March with a right shoulder impingement and subscapularis strain. The symptoms resurfaced after he resumed throwing and he ultimately was shut down for the season.
Uceta posted a 10-3 record with one save and a 3.79 ERA in 70 relief appearances in 2025.
He is 12-6 with a 3.70 ERA and six saves in 125 career appearances (one start) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (2021), Arizona Diamondbacks (2022), New York Mets (2023) and Rays.
