SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KFGO KELO) – Sioux Falls Police say think the theft and destruction of an ATM Wednesday may be part of a regional or national crime spree.
Police say three men stole a van from a nearby business and used it to pull apart an ATM at a local business.
Authorities say they think the culprits hooked a logging chain to the van then used it to yank out the ATM from the building.
Police said they found no money in the debris. They’re not sure how much money was stolen.
The case fits a recent pattern of ATM thefts nationally.
