ST. PAUL, MN (KFGO) – Minnesota reported a steady rise Thursday as the Health Department said 967 people in the state were confirmed to have died from the disease. That was an increase of 35 from Wednesday and the largest single-day increase in deaths reported since the pandemic began.
The number of people in a hospital climbed to 606. The dept. of health reported that the number of people listed in intensive care drop to 242, down 18 from Wednesday and the lowest it’s been in several days.
At least 787 of the 967 deaths were residents of long-term care facilities. Those residents account for about 12% of Minnesota’s positive Covid-19 cases and 81% of all deaths in Minnesota.
