ANAHEIM, CA – UFC returns to the Golden State for UFC 270 Saturday night, headlined by two championship fights on opposing ends of the UFC men’s weight spectrum.
The main event features heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou returning for the first time since capturing the title last March facing former training partner Ciryl Gane who claimed the interim heavyweight title in August. Ngannou rides a 5-fight winning streak that includes former champions Junior Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, and the man he took the title from Stipe Miocic into Saturday’s clash. Gane comes into the title unification bout with a perfect record.
Flyweight champion Brandon Moreno looks to make his first title defense against Deiveson Figueiredo, the man he took the belt from by third round submission in June of last year. The third straight time these fighters have met for the flyweight title, the first was one of the greatest flyweight fights of all time which ended in a majority draw.
The wildly unpredictable Michel Pereira looks to add to his 3-fight win streak as he welcomes newcomer André Fialho to the UFC welterweight division. Cody Stamann looks to get back into the win column as he takes on Said Nurmagomedov in a bantamweight showdown. Trevin Giles moves down to welterweight to welcome Dana White’s Contender Series alum Michael Morales to the UFC.
Fighting on the prelims Raoni Barcelos welcomes Victor Henry to the UFC bantamweight division. Making their UFC debuts Jack Della Maddalena faces Pete Rodriguez in a welterweight tilt. Bantamweight Tony Gravely returns to action welcoming Saimon Oliveira to the UFC. Matt Frevola looks to get back on track as he collides with fellow DWCS alum Genaro Valdéz in the lightweight division.
Early prelims include:
- Women’s Strawweight Silvana Gómez Juárez vs Vanessa Demopoulos
- Women’s Flyweight – Kay Hansen vs Jasmine Jasudavicius
Early prelims start at 6:00PM CDT on UFC Fight Pass. Action then shifts to ESPN and ESPN+ at 7:00PM followed by the pay-per-view main card at 9:00PM on ESPN+ PPV.
