PIERRE, S.D. (KFGO) – Two men who were arrested earlier this month in connection with a high-speed pursuit and officer-involved shooting in South Dakota have been indicted on multiple charges, including two counts each of attempted first-degree murder.
South Dakota Attorney General Mark Vargo and Lake County State’s Attorney Wendy Kloeppner say James Joseph Lanpher, Jr. and Bonner Raymond Juel face alternate counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer for each attempted murder count.
The pursuit took place July 14 across three counties in southeast South Dakota.
