(KFGO/KNFL) FARGO-Three-class high school basketball in North Dakota is closer to becoming reality.
The North Dakota High School Activities Association Board of Directors unanimously accepted the proposal submitted by a statewide focus group at its meeting Thursday in Valley City.
The board’s next step is to conduct a study to determine financial impacts and staff considerations. That study will be completed and presented at a special board meeting on February 8.
The focus group, consisting of representatives from member schools statewide, created a proposal earlier this year to add a third class of high school basketball. Divisions would be classified as AA, A, and B. The proposal received over the required 60 percent to present it to the Board today.
