LE SUEUR, Minn. – Gov. Tim Walz visited a dairy farm in Le Sueur Friday to highlight the state’s work on agriculture.
Walz signed an agriculture bill earlier this year that includes investments for dairy farms, grain and livestock producers, broadband, farm safety and emerging farmers.
The ag and broadband bill provides $4 million for the Dairy Assistance, Investment and Relief Initiative, as well as $10 million to establish the state’s first indemnity fund to protect producers when grain elevators go out of business.
