WILLIAMSPORT, PA (KFGO) – The Fargo Little League baseball team fell to Texas in their first game at the Little League World Series on Friday night.
A huge four run 4th inning for Texas propelled them to a 6-2 victory against Fargo in the League League World Series at Lamade Stadium. Texas is representing the Southwest.
Offensive leaders for Fargo include a Mason Kirchner double and a Colin Hanson two-run single. Reese Evenson also had a single in the sixth inning.
Texas scored two runs in the second inning by drawing three walks and a HBP.
Fargo came back in the bottom of the second. Colin Hanson smacked his two-run single that scored Blaise Ostrom and Mason Kirchner to tie the score at 2-2.
Texas took back the lead with their huge fourth inning. Shortstop Dalyn Martin scored on a passed ball for a 3-2 lead. Georgi got aboard with a bunt single and scored on a wild pitch for a 4-2 lead. Cade Hammonds added a huge two-out, two-run double for a 6-2 lead.
Fargo’s Cash Martinez pitched 3 2/3 innings, and struck out 8 Texas batters before he reached Little League’s pitch limit.
Left-hander Mason Sinner relieved Martinez and struck out four batters. Reed Holman closed out the game on the mound for Fargo.
The Fargo 12U All-Stars will play at 1 p.m. (CDT) Sunday at Lamade Stadium and be nationally televised on ABC.
