FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) — A proposal by Fargo City Commissioner Denise Kolpack to hire a Community Integration Facilitator to help new Americans has been tabled.
Commissioners voted 4-1 to push the idea back a few months until after the new state and federal administrations take over.
Kolpack says the purpose of the position is to connect new Americans with programs and services across the city. The position would be paid for by the state.
One person who spoke against the idea says it shouldn’t be a part of city government especially after Fargo commissioners voted to get rid of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion position.
Both Bismarck and Grand Forks currently have the position.
