RED LODGE, Mont. – Authorities in Montana say the body of a missing hiker from Minnesota has been recovered in Carbon County.
Red Lodge Fire and Rescue reports 23-year-old Tim Sandford from Minnetonka was swept into East Rosebud Creek on June 8. Officials say Sandford’s body was located 1,500 feet downstream by search teams using an aerial drone.
“After more than three months of dedicated search operations and hundreds of hours of volunteer time, we are grateful to finally be able to bring Tim home to his family,” Red Lodge Fire Rescue Chief Tom Kuntz said in a statement.
