ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Public Safety has released data from its annual summer traffic enforcement campaigns.
Traffic Safety Director Mike Hanson says there were more than 46,000 speeding citations issued, nearly 1,400 DWI arrests, and 178 move over violations issued during the “100 Deadliest Days” this summer.
Nearly 300 law enforcement agencies patrolled roads statewide during the summer enforcement campaigns. Hanson says the goal isn’t to write tickets, instead it’s to save lives and prevent injuries during the busiest travel time of the year.
