GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO/KVRR) – After Sen. Kevin Cramer put his support behind city commissioner Michelle Turnberg for Fargo mayor earlier this week, Sen. John Hoeven declined to make an endorsement.
In a social media video, Cramer – who lives in Bismarck – called Turnberg the right person to lead Fargo forward. Hoeven, who also lives in Bismarck, says he hasn’t considered an endorsement.
“You’ve got great candidates. I know a lot of them,” Hoeven said. “I guess if somebody talked to me about [an endorsement], I’d consider it. But the thing I would have to say is that I’m really pleased to see that they’ve got great candidates running, and of course, Fargo is such a wonderful, dynamic community.”
Hoeven added that he does not typically issue endorsements for mayoral races.
