(KFGO/KNFL) – The FM RedHawks and Cleburne Railroaders faced each other for game two of a seven game series in Cleburne Friday night. The railroaders would get three runs in the first inning off RedHawks starting pitcher Patrick Wicklander. Cleburne’s Brantley Bell drove in one run and Carter Aldrete would hit a two run home run to make it 3-0 Railroaders. Wicklander would eventually strike out the side to get out of the first inning.
In the 2nd inning, Peter Brookshaw would get a RBI double to make it 3-1. However, in the bottom of the 2nd, Christian Almanza would hit a home run to give Cleburne a 4-1 lead.
RedHawks Dillon Thomas would get an RBI in the third inning to make it 4-2. In the 4th inning, the RedHawks would tie the game at 4-4 with a Jake Hjelle RBI and Aidan Byrne groundout RBI.
The game would remain tied at 4-4 until the top of the 7th inning when the RedHawks bats would go off and produce an additional eight runs. Dillon Thomas would get the go ahead RBI on a 1-2 pitch. Jose Sermo would follow with a giant three run home run. Jesus Lujano, Jake Hjelle, and Juan Fernandez would all have RBI doubles in the 7th inning as well. Dillon Thomas would hit another RBI single before the 7th inning was over giving the RedHawks a 12-4 lead.
The Cleburne Railroaders would score one more run in the bottom of the 9th off Angelo Cabral, but the RedHawks would hold on and win the game 12-5.
Both Dillon Thomas and Jesus Lujano would have three hits in tonight’s game. RedHawks’ Liu Fuenmayor (1-0) would get the win. Railroaders’ Aaron Mishoulam (0-1) would get the loss.
The RedHawks are now 2-0 on the season and will play the Railroaders again Saturday night at 7pm.
