BOWBELLS, N.D. (KFGO) – A northwestern North Dakota man died Thursday afternoon when the dump truck he was driving was hit by a BNSF train.
The crash happened on County Road 17 southwest of Bowbells. The Highway Patrol says the 72-year-old was from Kenmare.
The railroad tracks are marked, but do not have crossing arms.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol, Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Bowbells Fire Department, and Bowbells Ambulance responded.
