LAKE LILLIAN, Minn. – Authorities in Kandiyohi County are investigating after human remains were uncovered during excavation work near Lake Lillian.
The sheriff’s office reported that a worker discovered several bones on Wednesday. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension helped investigators excavate the area and located additional remains believed to be from one person.
The Minnesota Indian Affairs Council was notified and later responded to the site.
Preliminary findings indicate the remains may be that of a Native American and archaeological.
