FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO-KBRF) – A Moorhead man was arrested in Fergus Falls this weekend for driving a stolen vehicle.
Prosecutors say Brandon Jones, 33, was taken into custody on Saturday, June 27, after an Otter Tail County deputy’s automatic license plate reader alerted that the car Jones was driving was reported stolen on June 24.
Moorhead police told the deputy that the owner of the car believed Jones had taken the vehicle without permission and had footage of him stealing it. According to court documents, Jones admitted to officers that he had taken his neighbor’s vehicle without permission.
Jones made his first court appearance in Otter Tail County on Monday morning and has been charged with receiving stolen property and driving with a canceled driver’s license. He will face any potential charges of theft from this case in Clay County.
