Aug 30 (Reuters) – An area of low pressure located about 125 miles (200 km) south of the coast of southeastern Louisiana has about a 50% chance of forming into a cyclone in the next 48 hours, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on Sunday.
“A short-lived tropical depression or tropical storm could form before the system reaches the Upper Texas or southwestern Louisiana coasts Tuesday or Tuesday night,” the NHC said.
The NHC also said heavy rainfall is possible over portions of the Upper Texas or southwestern Louisiana coasts during the next couple of days.
