HERMAN, Minn. (KFGO) — A man experiencing a serious mental health crisis caused a large police response near Herman, Minnesota Friday night.
Grant County dispatch received a call around 8:30 p.m. for a man threatening violence. The victim left the home, and the man fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The man allegedly made threats of harm towards others and himself.
Grant County deputies later located and stopped the vehicle. During the stop, the man made more threats and self-harmed.
Officers were eventually able to safely apprehend the man. He was brought to a hospital for his injuries.
Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, Big Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, West Central Area SWAT Team, Wheaton Ambulance, and the Herman Fire Department all responded.
