Fargo Post 2 needed one win over West Fargo for the championship and West Fargo forced game two winner take all with a 7-4 win. Post 2 trailed 3-2 in the bottom of the 7th. Carson Shiek would be the hero for Post 2 with a walk off hit to left field for a 4-3 win.
It was Fargo Post 2’s 30th state championship as a program and first since 2023.
Post 2 will advance to the American Legion baseball Central Plains Region tournament from August 5-9 at BNC National Bank Field in Mandan. Post 2 won the tournament in 2023, which was their last appearance in the tournament. The winner of the tournament advances to the American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.
