FARGO (KVRR) – A big change is coming to Carol Widman’s Candy Company in Fargo.
Carol Widman has retired and handed the business over to her nephew.
Widman has been making candy in the community for over thirty years.
But the Widman tradition of handmade candy spans five generations all the way back to 1885 in Dubuque, Iowa.
They are also famous for their chocolate-covered potato chips or “chippers”.
As of today, Shawn Widman is the new owner of Widman’s Candy, keeping the family tradition alive.
In her announcement on social media, Carol Widman thanked the community for supporting the company all these years.
