BANGKOK, Oct 7 (Reuters) – Thailand’s industrial sector has suffered damages worth an estimated 6 billion baht ($178 million) from floods that have swept through parts of the country since last month, a Federation of Thai Industries official said on Wednesday.
Despite disruptions, automotive assembly plants currently have enough parts in stock to continue production until Oct 12, FTI Secretary-General Panitarn Pavarolavidya said in a briefing.
Last week, the FTI’s initial damage assessment of the flooding in the capital Bangkok and 14 other provinces stood at around 1 billion baht.
