FARGO (KFGO) – A 33-year-old Fargo man was taken into custody Thursday afternoon following a two-hour standoff at an apartment complex, where he allegedly threatened staff and residents with a baseball bat.
Officers responded at approximately 12:05 p.m. to a reported disturbance at a building in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue North. Initial callers informed dispatchers that a man armed with a baseball bat was making active threats to harm people on the premises.
Responding officers tried to establish contact with the suspect, identified as Abu Abraham Dukuly of Fargo. Dukuly refused to step outside his apartment unit and barricaded himself inside, according to police.
Police said Dukuly continued to voice threats toward officers, residents, and building staff from inside the residence.
Law enforcement officers subsequently obtained a warrant to enter the apartment. At approximately 2:17 p.m., officers breached the door and took Dukuly into custody without further incident or injury.
Dukuly faces charges of terrorizing, preventing arrest, and possession of methamphetamine paraphernalia.
