Oct 11 (Field Level Media) – Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud suffered a right patellar subluxation in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in approximately two weeks, the team announced Sunday afternoon.
Raynaud sustained the injury in the second quarter of a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night.
Last season, he was a second-team All-Rookie selection, averaging 12.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 74 games (56 starts). He shot 57.1% from the field and 32.4% from three.
After the All-Star break, the 23-year-old really broke out, raising his averages to 17.3 points and 9.2 rebounds.
Domantas Sabonis is locked in as the Kings’ starting center. With Raynaud sidelined, they should rely more on Precious Achiuwa and Dylan Cardwell in reserve minutes.
